Tonho Matéria

Antonio Carlos Gomes Conceição (Salvador, 12/05/1964), known as Tonho Matéria, discovered that his path was in music from the age of fifteen. He was listening to some artists of the time on the radio when it happened. It was during a Carnival in Bahia, amidst crowds, alongside his mother who was a street vendor selling acarajé during the street parties and popular demonstrations, that Tonho was invited to participate in a street parade. Soon after the invitation, he found himself on stage, set up at one of Salvador's landmarks, experimenting with a song that was in his school notebook. SEE COMPLETE JOURNEY below.
